Backgammon Variant: American Acey Deucey (Part 3)

In American Acey Deucey the roll of a 1 and 2, called the acey deucey, is particularly useful and valuable. When a player rolls a 1 and 2 the following happens:* First, the player plays the 1 and the 2 using the normal rules

* The player then names any roll of doubles that he wishes and then plays it accordingly

* The player then rolls the dice again and plays this role the usual way

* If the number that has been rolled is another 1 and 2 then he keeps going, naming and playing a double of his choice and then rolling again.

You should take not though that if you are not able to use any part of your roll then you forfeit the rest of that turn. For instance, if a player can move the 2 but he cannot use the 1 then he may not name a double and he also cannot make another roll.

It is allowed to name a double even if it is only a part of the roll can be used. For example, a player who has already moved 1 and 2 can also name 6 and 6 as his double even if only tree of the 6s will be played. This means the player will effectively lose the fourth 6 and he would not be able to roll again.

When it comes to hitting a checker that is placed all alone on a point is called a blot. If an opposing checker is able to land on a blot then that particular blot is considered hit and is placed on the bar.
