Strategies, tips and stories about backgammon.

WA Charity To Hold Backgammon Tourney

If you’re in the Bellingham (WA) area and you are looking for some live backgammon action, you might want to join in on the fun. Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center, a nonprofit organization, is holding a backgammon tournament on the 30th of May. It is going to be held at the Boundary Bay Brewery & Bistro, 1107 Railroad Ave., Bellingham from 9 am to 3 pm. There is still time to register, as registration ends on the 22nd (that’s Friday). You only need to pay $25 (or $30 if you want lunch thrown in) and you can be part of the tournament and contribute to a good cause at the same time!

Some information on Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center… it is a group that helps people resolve conflicts in a nonviolent way. The center is being assisted by Michael Cain in hosting the backgammon tournament. Cain himself is an expert in the game and has been playing for a long time.

The organizers are encouraging everyone to join the tournament, regardless of their level of skill in backgammon. Cain will even have a short orientation about the game and the tournament for beginners. He says that he is really good with beginners and that that is his forte. His aim is for everyone to have fun, whether they are good at the game or not.

I am nowhere near the area but if any of you are, I suggest checking this out. It’s bound to be a lot of fun.
